We stopped at the Fox Sports Sky Box in Chicago’s O’hare Airport for lunch. The selection of beers was pretty typical, but I tried to find one that might not be an obviously easy one to pick up along the way, so I ordered a Molson Canadian Lager.
It wasn’t served with a glass, so I can’t comment exactly on the color or head, but, again, having had this before, I know it’s a pale yellow with a decent head.
The smell and taste was a little tough, as there really wasn’t much to it. It had a bit of that pale lager smell that I find tough to describe, and the taste and body was extremely thin and crisp. It was also tough for me to pick up much taste to it, but I did notice a small bit of a skunky hop aftertaste. The bottle had an “expiration date” marked on it (you can see it above the maple leaf) of June, so it shouldn’t be that old.
For the most part it went down like water, so I guess it would go well with just about any type of food. It would also be good for a hot day mowing the lawn or something like that. There might be some nostalgia to drink this while watching hockey, but other than that I don’t forsee myself reaching for this often.
